Chatham Vol. 6 WINSTON Blanketeer DECEMBER 22, 1939 No. 5 niERRy affiismuis HIS has surely been an eventful year for our Company. We made the decision to move our Winston plant to Elkin after long and careful—I might almost say “prayerful”—study. It means a lot in the life of many of us—leaving families, and friends and pulling up stakes. But we know that it is for the best interest of our Company and that is where we get our living. Our money all comes from the services which we render our cuf.- tomers. We will be more efficient and turn out better goods when we get our mill together. I hope that we will all get to know each other better after we get settled in Elkin. And I am sure that the warm welcome our Elkin friends will have for us Winston folks will help to ease the leaving of so many ties there. I wish for you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Let’s all resolve to move forward in 1940. Let’s all promise to get to know each other better, to try to see each other’s side of the question and to show the world that we are making good citizens as well as good products. Each year I enjoy working with you more and more. I know that we have a group of people that cannot be beat when we set our minds and hands to our job. We have friends in the places where we live because we appreciate their good will and value it far beyond price. If we try to become better citizens and better friends, we will go far together.
